Conservation translocations might include reintroduction programmes to restore threatened species, or the introduction of species into new regions to perform a particular ecological function to aid ecosystem recovery. These, and all other types of conservation translocations can be reported in this database.
The Database might be used in multiple ways:
- People who are undertaking conservation translocations can use it as a platform to record their project details and find others working on similar projects.
- Others might be interested in looking at what projects are happening in their local area.
- The database will also be used to evaluate how well translocations are helping to address biodiversity loss.
